LoftLife Releases Issue Two In Atlanta
october 14, 2008
NEW YORK, NY, October 14, 2008: LoftLife, "The Loftstyle Guide to Loft in the City", releases its second issue in Atlanta. The publication addresses a previously untapped urban shelter-magazine market focusing on modern design, sustainability, live/work spaces and a walking culture.
In this winter issue, the magazine tackles a question timelier than ever -- "Is Surburbia Dead?" With a credit crisis owed to the price of fuel, foreclosures, and years of living beyond our means an urban rebirth seems likely. Now, more than ever, mainstream media has supported this idea that the real estate market is changing and buyers are looking for shorter commutes, home office space, and timeless design. The death of suburbia's "McMansion" has made way for a growth in city living.
The Board of Experts who weighed in on this issue include curator and Atlanta Gallery Association president Alan Avery; MaRae Simone, Atlanta's go-to "condo stylist"; environmental designer Chris Moss; and John-Patrick McChesney, a real estate consultant that has been recognized by Atlanta magazine.
Gibril Wilson's loft-style condo at Aqua is on display, accompanied by a piece from Atlanta Editor Katie Black. Design expert Deno Ferraro scoped out the best design boutiques and antique shops in Paris. The La France Street Lofts are shown from different perspectives with a selection of their owners' individual tastes and character. Curator Alan Avery talks about the visual aesthetic he had in mind to liven up the walls of the Glenn Hotel, a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel downtown.
A series of events were held to introduce this issue including "Lofts Within Reach" held at DWR, the seven-year anniversary celebration with Space Modern, as well as an issue release party at Aqua.
Beginning with issue two, LoftLife is available in Barnes & Noble, Borders, and newsstands in the Atlanta metro area, as well as on select newsstands in New York.
