LoftLife Releases Summer 2009 Issue On Newsstands Nationally

NEW YORK, NY (July 14, 2009) - LoftLife, "The Loftstyle Guide to Life in the City", releases its Summer 2009 issue nationally, celebrating one year of existence. With national distribution in place, LoftLife is now available on newsstands at select locations of Barnes & Noble, Borders, and Hudson News.
The summer issue, the publication's fourth quarterly issue to date, further explores city living and tackles topics like sustainability, lasting modern design, and worthwile long-term design investments. Publisher Joe Resudek says, "We're reaching an untapped demographic within the urban shelter-magazine market, one that continues to ignore the recession. A lot of readers have been left without a source of inspiration given the number of publications that have closed within the past year, and we hope to continue to further engage that audience."
In this issue, the magazine explores the impact this economic climate will have on the future of architecture and design -- "The Future of the Loft" by David Hay breaks down the past, present, and future of urban development; San Francisco's eye-catching Losa Loft; a Q&A with Andrew Flesher of Gunkelman Flesher Interior Design; a modern Midwestern Loft in Chicago; as well as an Amsterdam travel piece covering the stops any design aficionado should make while in the Netherlands.
The Board of Experts who weighed in on this issue include Poppytalk design blogger Jan Halvarson; interior and event designer Miguel Calvo, who has worked with both MoMA & the UN; Atlanta-based Urbane Environmentalist Jim Hackler; Marcel Schreuder, partner and founder of Amsterdam's Springtime design firm; and others.
A series of recent events were held surrounding the Spring 2009 issue including Modern Atlanta's "Design Is Human" modern design week and home tour, as well as a New York launch party at The Visionaire, Manhattan's greenest luxury high rise located in Battery Park City.
LoftLife is available nationally in Barnes & Noble, Borders, Hudson News and select metropolitan newsstands, with yearly subscriptions available through the website at $12. Expected to be the first shelter publication available on the Kindle, LoftLife is scheduled for availability in September 2009.
